Today’s iCandy – Liffey Dreaming
This was one of the best waterfalls I had ever visited. It was such a nice rainforest and the falls were spectacular. To get this shot I had to walk out into the stream across a really slippery surface, I sort of did the thunderbird shuffle, using my tripod as a walking frame and slowly sliding my feet forward, step by step.
The Technical Mumbo Jumbo
[tabbed tabs=”Camera|Mode|ISO|Aperture|Shutter|Lens|Filter|Other info”] [tab] I used my trusty D800 for this one [/tab] [tab] I used Aperture Priority (aka AV) [/tab] [tab] ISO100 – I always shoot as low as possible [/tab] [tab] f22 – This gave me a slower shutter speed creating the silky water effect [/tab] [tab] 1/2 a second – This is all that was needed to get the water movement as it was flowing really fast [/tab] [tab] I used my Nikon 14-24mm lens – boy I love this lens! [/tab] [tab] No Filter Used [/tab] [tab] I used Lightroom to increase contrast, vibrance and clarity. Then a quick crop and that’s it! [/tab] [/tabbed]
