A handy little app…
I first downloaded The Photographer’s Ephemeris (TPE) to my iPhone about a year ago. I was looking through the multitude of photography apps in the apple store when I found this one. I was a little hesitant, as it was nearly $10! Realistically, this app would have saved me that in petrol…
You can get a free version for your home PC or Mac and I highly recommend it to every outdoor photographer. Essentially, it uses google maps and shows you where the sun and moon will rise and fall. It also has a bunch of other cool features… my favourite, I can see exactly what time sunset and sunrise will be. It would be great if it included tide info too… but for $8.99 I really cannot complain.
If you have an iPhone or Android then this app is available for your mobile device too. Here’s a screenshot of Sydney’s sunrise and sunset for today. The orange lines are the sun and the grey lines are the moon.
Today’s iCandy – Opera Views
I was just walking through the park when the Opera house came into view through the trees… just love Sydney!
